In addition, you can even find Polo, Cricket and over 80 clubs to choose from at Lakewood Ranch. There are community parks, lakes and nature preserves with over 150 miles of sidewalks and trails. Additionally, there is abundant native wildlife in the nearby wetland preserves and forest. Lakewood Ranch has set aside half of the land for recreational or open space.
You can also enjoy gourmet restaurants, international cuisine, boutiques and specialty shops. Family-friendly restaurants, ice cream parlors, A-rated schools and much more will appeal to those with families. World-class festivals and events!
Most noteworthy, the first Friday of every month there is live music on Main Street. It may be swing, country or good old rock and roll, but it’s a great time every time! There is an "Art at the Ranch" especially relevant to art lovers. This also benefits the ArtCenter Manatee and is a premiere showcase for local, national and international artists.

Bring your own refreshments, chairs, blankets and a beach umbrella (to keep the Florida sun at bay) - sit back and relax while watching the 'sport of kings.' It's an experience you'll never forget at the players fly by at thirty miles per hours - all while balancing on horseback and hitting a ball with a mallet. Look in the local papers for a BOYO first. I do have to say that they do put money back into the course and it is well maintained." September 9, 2015
